County supervisors from several California counties – including Inyo – will join with California Insurance Commissioner
Ricardo Lara in hosting a virtual town hall this week on Wildfire Preparedness and Insurance Resources.
Inyo County Fifth District Supervisor Matt Kingsley is one of seven Eastern/Central California supervisors scheduled to
provide a brief update on their respective jurisdictions during the webinar,being held from 1:30-3 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 12. Other participating counties include Fresno, Kern, Madera, Tulare, San Benito, and San Joaquin.
Commissioner Lara will give a presentation following the county supervisors.
“One of the most important lessons we
have learned during last year’s fire season is that we must be prepared to keep our families and communities safe,” Lara
said. “It is imperative for you to have up-to-date information on services and resources.”
The town hall will also include presentations from CalFire and U.S. Forest Service representatives, as well as a 25-minute
Q&A hosted by Madera and Tulare county supervisors.
