Herbs 101 workshop Sunday

Staff Writer

The Inyo Mono Master Gardeners are inviting the general public to attend an “Herbs 101” workshop from 2-3 p.m. this Sunday, May 3 at Bishop Nursery, 789 N. Home St., Bishop. The workshop will focus on growing herbs and creating an herb basket.

"Add a little adventure to your cooking as well as fragrance to your garden with a variety of herbs that are easy to grow in the Eastern Sierra," a spokesperson said, explaining that Master Gardener Alison Collin’s presentation will focus on the basics of herbs: plant selection, soil, water, sunlight needs as well as fertilizer requirements. Attendees are invited to stay a little longer and create their own herb container or plan their herb garden as Bishop Nursery will have plants and pots on sale.

This talk is open to anyone interested in adding herbs to their landscape or creating an herb basket. Herbal refreshments will be served and door prizes will be a surprise.
