Tuesday, Feb. 6

County supervisors
The Inyo County Board of Supervisors meets in regular session at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Board Chambers at the County Administrative Center in Independence, 224 N. Edwards St.

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 118 will hold its regular monthly meeting at 3 p.m. in the AltaOne conference room located at 462 N. Main St. in Bishop. All women with a military background are welcome. For information call Joyce Curwick at (760) 872-1283 or Danielle White at (760) 872-1283.

The next MOMSS pack will be at 6 p.m. at Bishop City Hall Auditorium. There will not be a board meeting until March 6. Donations are always welcome and can be dropped off the day of the pack. This is an overseas pack. Typically this includes 6-8 soldiers that are sent packages.

W.M. Fire Protection District
The White Mountain Fire Protection District Board of Commissioners meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in Benton.

Wednesday, Feb. 7

Bishop Sunrise Rotary Club
Bishop Sunrise Rotary Club meets at 7:11 a.m. at the Northern Inyo Hospital Board Room Annex, 2957 Birch St., Bishop.

The Northern Inyo Hospital Auxiliary will meet at 10 a.m. at 2957 Birch St. This is a workshop to assemble holiday items to be available at the next boutique. All are welcome to participate. For more information, call Shirley Stone (760) 872-1914.

CA Native Plant Society
The California Native Plant Society will host a public talk on designing native plant gardens at 7 p.m. in the George Lozito Conference room behind the Jill Kinmont Booth School off Grandview in Bishop. Katie Quinlan, avid gardener and chapter president, will be the presenter. The group will meet at 5:30 p.m. for free pizza and 2018 field trip planning.

American Legion, Post 118

Audobon February Program
The Eastern Sierra Audobon Program will be from 6:45-8 p.m. at the U.S. Forest Service/BLM offices, 351 Pacu Lane, Bishop. “Clever People: Birds of the Dreamtime of Northern Australia” will be presented by David Lee, who has spent 10 summers documenting Aboriginal rock art and associated traditional stories in Northern Australia.

Photographers Club

Thursday, Feb. 8

Ladies will be gathering for “Girl Time” at 9 a.m. for coffee at First Southern Baptist Church, 251 Sierra St. in Bishop.

Yoga classes
The Imagination Lab hosts yoga classes led by Sabine Ellis every Thursday from noon-1 p.m. The Imagination Lab is located at 621 W. Line St., Ste. 204.

Lions Club
The Bishop Lions Club meets at noon in the Patio Building at the Tri-County Fairgrounds.

Bingo at Senior Center

Elks Celebrate 150 years
The 150th anniversary of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, one of the premier charitable and patriotic organizations in the United States will be celebrated from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bishop Elk’s Lodge, 151 E. Line St., Bishop. This is a perfect opportunity to join the Elks as a new member. Initiation fee will be waived. Tacos and hors d’ oeuvres will be served.

Weight Watchers
Weight Watchers meets at 5:30 p.m. at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church every Thursday. The church is located at 700 Hobson St., Bishop.

Fair Planning Meeting
The Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fairgrounds will host a committee planning meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Tallman Pavilion located on the grounds of the Tri County Fair. The purpose of the committee planning will be to receive input with the Tri-County Fair citizens and local business community regarding the 2018 Tri-County Fair. English Class
English for Speakers of Other Languages will be at Bishop Union High School from 6:30-8 p.m. in Room 307. It is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays by the Inyo County Superintendent of Schools and is free. The textbook is $15. The instructor is Julie Metz, (760) 920-5116.

Taking Off Pounds Sensibly
TOPS weight-loss program meets every Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Highlands Adult Clubhouse. Community members can reach their weight-loss goals by providing the tools, information, support and accountability to succeed. TOPS is open to men, women and teens.

Saturday, Feb. 10

Bingo at Senior Center
AARP is offering Bingo at the Bishop Senior Center behind the City Park. Those 18 and older are welcome to attend. Doors open at 5 p.m. No sales after 5:45 p.m. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. For more information, call (760) 873-5839.

Rotary 2018 International Feast
The Bishop Sunrise Rotary Club will have its 2018 International Feast with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. at the Tri- County Fairgrounds, Heritage Arts Building (formerly Home Economics). The third annual International Feast includes a delicious gourmet dinner featuring cuisine from Switzerland and a performance by the Honors Strings quartet. There will be a silent auction and instant wine cellar raffle followed up by music and dancing provided by local favorites Sandy and the High Country. Ticket sales, auction and raffle proceeds will fund the club’s ongoing projects to better the local community, sponsor foreign exchange students as well as provide leadership training and scholarship funds for our local students. Tickets are available online at, at the Bishop Chamber of Commerce or from any Sunrise Rotary Club member.

VFW Breakfast
The VFW Auxiliary Post 8988 will be serving breakfast from 9-11 a.m. at 484 Short St. The menu includes French toast, eggs to order, big sausage links, orange juice, tea, coffee and hot chocolate for a donation of $9. Eastside Writing Circle
