Inyo County Office of Education Classified Vacancies Position: Part-Time Behavior Intervention Assistant and One-on-One Instructional Aide (Special Education Department) Salary: Range 17 of Classified Salary Schedule (Behavior Intervention Assistant) $18.08 - $19.93 per hour Range 11 of Classified Salary Schedule (Instructional Aide) $15.56 - $17.18 per hour Hours:7 hours per day - 5 days per week (3.5 hours per day in the morning - Behavior Intervention Assistant and 3.5 hours in the afternoon- Instructional Aide) Monday - Friday Description: The Behavior Intervention Assistant supports the classroom teacher and staff by reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups, assist and support staff in observing, monitoring and collecting data on behaviors targeted for intervention; perform a variety of specialized learning techniques, communication strategies, and applied behavioral activities or techniques pertaining to the instruction of special and regular education. This position will support student behavior intervention plans as directed by the behavior specialist and support appropriate student behaviors in both structured and unstructured activities, events and settings. The Instructional Aide works within the early childhood environment, general and special education settings. (Infant-preschool; including 1:1 aides and multi-child classroom aides). Assists in the operation of a designated school, class or function and the supervision of student(s) ages 0-5. To work closely with student(s) with disabilities on a regular basis in an effort to provide the student(s) with the educational, physical and/or emotional support needed to successfully meet the requirements of their Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). These two part-time positions are combined into a 0.875 FTE position. CPI training, CPR, driver's license, and experience working with children or students. Criminal Records clearance and successful results on a pre-employment medical exam prior to start date.
