Lee A. Cox
Lee A. Cox, 64, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at his home.
Lee grew up in Big Pine and graduated from Big Pine High School. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army. He spent his life in the construction business in Northern California, first as a plumbing contractor and later expanding his business to general engineering and heavy equipment construction. He worked on many larger water and waste water treatment plants in Northern California, as well as projects on the Folsom Dam in Folsom.
Lee was an avid outdoorsman and gun enthusiast that loved fishing and hunting and sport shooting. In addition to their construction business, he and his wife, Barbara, owned and operated a horse ranch for several years before retiring from the business in 1995. Lee had recently began teaching a physical therapy Tai Chi class. He enjoyed the people in his class and genuinely cared about each of them.
Lee was a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandfather who leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory his wife of 37 years, Barbara; son, Brian and daughter-in-law, Michele of Folsom; two daughters, Leah and son-in-law, Shane of Sacramento and Geralee of Harrisburg, Pa.; two brothers, Larry Cox of Long Beach and Billy Cox and sister-in-law, Windy of Big Pine; brother-in-law, Dave and sister-in-law, Gail, both of South Dakota; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces, Amity and Amy; and many other nieces and nephews. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and one grandson.
Per Lee’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
