A fire, believed to be caused by an abandoned campfire, scorched 113 acres northeast of Bishop over the weekend.
The call came into CalFire dispatch just before 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19. The fire started near 5 Bridges Road, north of U.S. Highway 6.
According to the CalFire information office, 20 fire engines, two fire crews, two bulldozers as well as two air tankers responded to the fire.
By Sunday morning, the fire was at 60 percent containment with additional crews working on a containment line around the perimeter and mopping up hot spots. At that point, full containment was expected on Monday, but variable wind gusts hampered progress.
By Sunday afternoon, containment was at 75 percent with seven engines, six crews, a water tender and bull dozer still on site.
Mop -up was still ongoing as of noon yesterday as crews dealt with 10 mph winds and gusts up to 20 mph.
