One Hundred Mules Walking the L.A. Aqueduct was just the backdrop for what became a “life-changing” experience for the local packers, mule skinners and other residents who made the commemorative artist action a reality.
The riders and wranglers who moved 100 mules from the aqueduct outtake below Big Pine on Oct. 18 to its terminus in the Cascades near Sylmar on Nov. 5 recently gathered at the Metabolic Studio in Lone Pine to reflect on their experiences. The gathering was actually Water Conversation No. 53, part of a series of dialogues running through the centennial anniversary of the completion of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Aqueduct.
