Has definitive proof been obtained to finally convince the world that one of its most enduring myths is actually reality? And did local brothers Daniel and David Greene play a key role in the discovery?
Neither the Greenes nor Spike TV will say, but urge the curious to tune in tomorrow night to the premier of the new reality series, “10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty.”
The show, coming at what Daniel Greene describes as the peak of the sasquatch mythology as a pop culture phenomenon, tasks nine pairs of bigfoot believers with uncovering and delivering indisputable scientific evidence of the creature’s existence. The team that is able to produce such evidence to the judges’ satisfaction will win a $10 million bounty – a prize so large it’s been underwritten by Lloyd’s of London.
The judges are Dr. Todd Disotell, Ph.D., an evolutionary biologist and self-proclaimed non-believer who runs New York University’s molecular primatology lab, and Natalia Reagan, primatologist and field researcher.
During filming, the teams were given access to a state-of-the-art mobile DNA lab and other equipment to collect samples, such as biopsy guns – the only firearms allowed.
“It’s a no-kill show,” Daniel Greene said.
