Starting this month and for the first time in more than 20 years, local residents will be able to take the General Education Degree test in Inyo County.
Through the coordinated efforts of Cerro Coso Community College and the Inyo County Superintendent of Schools Office, the Bishop campus of the Eastern Sierra College Center will be the site of monthly testing dates for a wide variety of state and national tests.
The Bishop campus has recently been certified as an official PearsonVUE- Authorized Test Center. PearsonVUE is the leading provider of licensing examinations for state and federal regulatory bodies and the only California-sanctioned company with the ability to administer the GED.
The GED is for adults who do not have a high school diploma. Those who pass the test receive a California High School Equivalency Certificate. In California, persons who are 18 years of age or older may take the GED test.
