The holly’s hung, the guitars are strung, the tables are set, the turkey is cooked, no one’s overlooked. That’s the bright scene that awaits everyone when the Bishop Community Christmas Dinner arrives.
For the second year in a row, the come-one-come-all event will be held from 12:30-3 p.m. on Dec. 25, Christmas Day in the First United Methodist Church hall, 205 N. Fowler St. “Last year we served more than 300 people,” said key event organizer Laura Smith. This year, perhaps more will break bread, sing carols and share in the spirit of Christmas in the “nice, large, warm, beautiful facility” that FUMC is donating for the event.
As a matter of fact, from start to finish the holiday dinner event is “an absolute community effort, pulling together resources from all over,” Smith said. “It’s amazing what our community does,” starting with the event flyers which Alex Printing designed and donated.
