Both county educators and community members have expressed the hope that area students will “go out into the world,” get an education and bring those new skills back to benefit Inyo County. As of the end of this school year, the road out into the world may be due north on U.S. 395.
The road is labeled the Inyo Promise and expands the sister school relationship between Inyo County schools and Cerro Coso Community College to include the University of Nevada, Reno. Superintendent of Schools Terry McAteer outlined the concept at the Nov. 19 Inyo County Office of Education Board of Trustees meeting.
