Having been trained in some of the nation’s latest law enforcement techniques, Bishop Police Department Sgt. Dan Nolan will soon graduate from the FBI National Academy.
According to the PD, Nolan is expected to graduate from the 254th session of the FBI academy on Sept. 20 and will be returning to the PD to share what he learned with the rest of the department.
“We’re extremely proud of Dan and his accomplishment and we’re looking forward to his returning to duty with the department,” said Chief Chris Carter, who nominated the uniform patrol sergeant for the chance to attend to the academy. Developing “future department leadership” is one of Carter’s primary duties, he said.
Nominees to the Quantico, Va. academy must be validated by numerous local entities such as the PD and City Council, Carter said, and “no one would choose not to go. It’s a fantastic career opportunity … a terrific honor.”
