Mammoth Lakes resident Lloyd Cearley, a cancer patient who created the Mammoth 2 Bishop Fun Bike Ride fundraiser this past spring, was reported missing this week after failing to attend a doctor’s appointment.
Mammoth Lakes Police Sgt. Marc Moscowitz said a missing person report was filed with law enforcement authorities in Sacramento, where Cearley’s doctor’s appointment was scheduled, earlier this week.
Moscowitz said the MLPD could come up with little that might aid the investigation.
Cearley was to have checked in for a doctor’s appointment in Sacramento, according to a Facebook post by his roommate in Mammoth, Garrett Martin.
“No one has heard from him since Tuesday evening,” Martin wrote. “He had a serious doctor appointment Wednesday at 1 p.m. and he never showed up.
“He left his cell phone where he was staying up in Sacramento. He might be in the Mammoth area or San Diego area.”
Several Eastern Sierra residents are attempting to locate Cearley via social media.
Anyone who may know where Cearley is is encouraged to contact the Sacramento Police Department’s Missing Persons unit at (916) 808-0650. Friends and family also ask that information on Cearley’s whereabouts be given to his sister, Nicole Cearley, (321) 223-2337 or his roomate, Garrett, at (858) 519-7808.
