Services will be held for John Bernard Boling at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29 at the Big Pine Tribal Park area on Watson Road in Big Pine. There will be a time to share food and memories following the service.
John was born in Pomona to James Harvey and Mary Katherine Boling on Nov. 29, 1951 and died at his home in Carson City, Nev. on June 10, 2013.
John and his older siblings spent the first part of their childhood in San Dimas. Their father died in 1958 and their mother remarried in 1959. The family moved from San Dimas to live at Aberdeen Resort in 1963 when John was 11 years old. John attended school in Big Pine, graduating in 1969. He later obtained an associate degree in both engineering and wildlife management. John worked primarily in the field of mechanics until becoming partially disabled. During the latter part of his life, he was self-employed part-time as a computer technician.
During the latter part of the 1990s, John married Renee Coons, whom he had reconnected with following a separation of approximately 20 years. John and Renee raised Renee’s grandson, Dylan, as their own following the death of his mother when he was a baby.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Renee Boling; father, James Harvey Boling; mother and stepfather, Warren and Mary Katherine Mann; brother, Bryan Muyres; and his nephew, James “Barnz” Miller.
John is survived by his son, Dylan Buck of New Zealand; stepson, Robert Pueblo of Germany; sister and brother-in-law, Jim and Maryetta Miller of Big Pine; brother, James D. Boling of Big Pine; and sister, Marilyn Mann of Big Pine; as well as nieces and nephews living in Reno and local areas.
