Thunder Buffalo Madina
Our Thunder Buffalo Madina, “Billy,” was born in Bishop on the sixth of November, 1979 and entered into eternal life on the 17th of August, 2012.
A life-long resident of Big Pine, he was known and loved by all. Thunder was not only a loving son and brother, but a loyal friend, cousin and nephew, too. Anyone fortunate enough to know him could and would tell you that he had one of the biggest and kindest hearts and just absolutely loved animals. He loved all our little children, but especially the little babies, being just a big kid at heart himself. He loved to laugh and joke and tease everyone, young and old alike. His beautiful, infectious smile and larger than life spirit will never be forgotten.
He will be more than greatly missed and will always be remembered by his love for helicopters and the sound of his dirt bike ripping up and down the rez.
Thunder is survived by his mother, Nel Madina; sister, Bibbi Leigh; great-aunt, Margie Piper; uncle, Frank Madina, Sr.; aunts, Nancy Madina and Lucy Winfree all of Big Pine; numerous other aunts and uncles, cousins and “bro’s,” nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at Independence Cemetery, Independence.
