Gail Kathleen Timmons
Gail Kathleen Timmons, 57, died July 20, 2012, with her family by her side in Palmdale. She is now at peace and with our Lord after her battle with cancer.
Gail was born here in Bishop, her hometown, on June 11 1955, to Elizabeth Jean Falconer (Hutton). She was the oldest of four siblings, and attended BUHS, graduating with the class of 1973. After graduating Gail traveled and found a variety of adventures and friends in many places. She returned to Bishop in 1988 after the birth of her son, Cameron Timmons, in order to raise him in the beautiful Sierra and be close to her parents, Wayne and Jeannie Hutton.
Gail practiced home nursing and caretaking; helping care for many patients here in the Owens Valley, and making many friends in the process. She loved gardening, reading books, baking, camping in the mountains and sharing photos and letters.
She was an active and loved member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bishop. She served as a deacon and also was active on the Care of Members team for many years. Gail had a personal mission to send letters of encouragement and phone calls to just about everyone she knew and loved. Many will remember her for her outgoing personality, and the many meals and cookies she would provide for friends or for church events.
Gail is survived by her loving son, Cameron Timmons; parents, Wayne and Jeannie Hutton; siblings, Bob Hutton, Leslie Yamashita, Sue Hernandez and Susan King; uncles, Roy Falconer of North Carolina, Rolf Brown of Lone Pine; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4 at 1 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Bishop.
Gail loved any and all types of bright colored flowers, or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her honor to the Gail K. Timmons memorial fund at the First Presbyterian Church. These donations will be provided as scholarships to help women attend the annual Women’s Retreat Weekend held by the church.
