Colleen ‘Cokie’ Sue Hurd
Colleen passed away at her home on Jan. 25 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Newport Beach on Feb. 7, 1946. Cokie moved to Big Pine with her family when she was in elementary school and attended Big Pine schools. She was active in sports, cheerleading and student government in high school and graduated in 1964. After high school, Cokie moved to Lancaster, where she attended Antelope Valley College, then moved back to Bishop where she lived until her passing. She was the great-granddaughter of several Owens Valley pioneer families, including the Gilhoeds, McMurrys and the Salques.
Cokie is survived by her daughter, Amy Daisy; son, Jim Arcularius; grandchildren, Aidain and Olivia Daisy and Quinn and Reed Arcularius; cousins, Philly and Richard Brooks; stepbrother, David Allen; and nephews, Cory and Newall Cullen and Elisha Allen.
Cokie was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Bonnie and Bob Allen; father, Hugh Cullen; and brother, Mike Cullen.
No services were held and interment at the Big Pine Cemetery was private.
