A graveside service was held May 6 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine for Paul deHam.
Born Sept. 20, 1945 in Denver, Colo. to Fred and Juanita deHam, Paul died Thursday, April 28, 2011 in Viera, Fla., surrounded by his family.
Paul was a man who loved the outdoors and connected to the land through hiking, fishing and camping. He spent most of his working life as a California State Park Ranger and was an active member of the Sierra Club. Paul had a thirst for knowledge in which he earned two Master’s Degrees and led him to travel the world to study abroad. He was a loving father and grandfather who taught his family the importance of education and gave them a love for nature.
He will be deeply missed and loved forever.
Paul is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jake Burton of Viera, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Dusty Dahlgren of Los Banos; brother and sister-in-law, Gerry and Jari deHam of Los Osos; sister, Carolyn Alders of Montana; and four beautiful grandchildren who loved him very much.
