Ruth A. Hinson
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brune Mortuary in celebration of the life of Ruth A. Hinson.
Born Oct. 19, 1924 in Olden, Texas, to Roy Pickett and Mabel Lassiter Pickett, Ruth died Dec. 11, 2010 at her home in Bishop.
Ruth was married to her high school sweetheart, Frank E. Hinson, for 51 years. She was lucky to be a stay-at-home mom for her two sons.
After her sons were adults and out on their own she took pride in working at Northern Inyo Hospital, performing EKGs, being a nurse’s aid and providing pharmacy services. Ruth was also a 24-year hospice volunteer.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her love, generosity and strength will carry those forward.
Ruth is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Irma Lee Pickett of Houston, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Bette Hinson of Bakersfield and David and Yolanda Hinson of Bishop; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to the Hospice of the Owens Valley.
