Adeline Dena Joseph
Funeral services will be announced at a later date for Adeline Dena Joseph.
Born, Dec. 25, 1921 in Los Angeels, Adeline, Nana to her family, died Dec. 3, 2010.
Adeline lived all of her life in California. The last 40 years she lived in Bishop surrounded by most of her family.
Adeline leaves a legacy that is viewed with awe. She helped her husband Eddie, who she shared 67 years of marriage with, to achieve incredible things in their lives. She also started and grew numerous businesses, both in Southern California and Bishop. She served on the Grand Jury of Inyo County, and helped to establish the “Soup Lunch” at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. However, the thing she was most proud of was her family.
Everyone who knew Addie can attest to what a wonderful smile and great sense of humor she had.
“In our sorrow we celebrate the gift of her life. She leaves us with many wonderful memories,” the family said.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Edward F. Joseph; and her third oldest daughter, Dena Francine Oaks.
She is survived by six grown children, Barbara Cross, Grass Valley, Sherrie Black, Fresno and Debbie Steinke, Steven Joseph, Vickie Piercey and Tammy Goin all of Bishop; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and their numerous spouses.
Donations in Addie’s memory may be made to the Hospice of the Owens Valley in Bishop.
