As requested by the deceased, no services will be held for Carrie Knight.
Born on March 10, 1949 in Pasadena, Carrie died at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento on Sept. 18, 2010. She was 61.
Carrie was a loving, caring and positive person. In her six years in the Owens Valley, she was a member of the Daughters of the Revolution, volunteered for the Blake Jones Fish Derbies, and helped the Elk’s Lodge no. 1603 on many of their Friday night dinners, especially “Taco Nite.”
Carrie has been visiting the area since the age of 3, always camping and fishing. Carrie retired from the California Cosmetology Association in 1998 in Pasadena. In 2004, she fulfilled a life-long dream of moving to the Owens Valley where she enjoyed her many fruit trees and her chickens and being close to her family. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.
She is survived by husband, Gil Knight of Chalfant; daughter, Wendy Knight of Bishop; granddaughters, Megan Bulmer-Knight and Kelsey Bulmer-Knight of Bishop; mother, Patricia Padgham of Bishop; father and step-mother Bob and LaVaughn Martin of Laguna Beach; sister Sandie and husband Mark DesLauriers; nephew, Derek and niece Jocelyn DesLauriers of Littleton, Colo.; brother; Richard and wife Sarah Martin of Denver, Colo; and numerous cousins.
