Classic cars and vintage rides weren’t the only draw at the Tri-County Fairgrounds the weekend of Oct. 2-3.
Hundreds of residents and visitors also found beauty in watercolors, oils and pastels during the 12th Annual Altrusa Art Show and Sale, held to coincide with the Owens Valley Cruisers Fall Colors Car Show and the Laws Railroad Museum Choo-Choo Swap Meet.
Dozens of artists from the Eastern Sierra had their works on display and for sale, including 2010 featured artist Maryann Thomas.
According to Altrusa spokesperson Ruth DeCray, approximately 300 visitors to the Art Show took the time to vote for “Best of Show,” which, along with first place, went to Bishop resident Laura Talbot for her pastel, “I’ll Be Here.”
Second place went to Bishop resident Robert Griffith for his watercolor, “Swap Meet.”
Third Place went to Ron Luce, owner of Bishop Art Supply, for his watercolor, “Convict Lake.”
