Returning to the Tri-County Fairgrounds for the 12th consecutive year, Altrusa International of the Eastern Sierra’s Art Show and Sale is offering patrons more than one way to take home works by local artists.
“Below the Dam,” an original framed watercolor painting by 2009 featured artist Pat Crowther, will be raffled off during the annual event, being held Saturday and Sunday inside the fairgrounds’ Floriculture Building.
Crowther has generously donated the painting to help Altrusa raise funds for its various literacy-related community service projects.
Raffle tickets are currently being sold by Altrusa members throughout the county.
The public may view the original “Below the Dam” painting at Union Bank in Bishop and may also purchase tickets at that location.
This year’s Art Show and Sale coincides with the Owens Valley Cruisers Fall Colors Car Show and the Laws Railroad Museum Choo-Choo Swap Meet.
The featured artist in 2010 is Maryann Thomas, who unanimously won “Best of Show” at the October 2009 show for her watercolor painting, “Mt. Basin Sunset.”
