Jo Ann Williams Brackett
Jo Ann Williams Brackett, 75, of Murphy, N.C. passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014. She was surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert, also of Murphy, NC; her daughter, Paula Koltun of South Lake Tahoe; her daughter, Marcy Mulvihill; granddaughter, Megan Mulvihill; and great-granddaughter, Emmy Mulvihill all of Roswell, Ga.; her brother, Bob Williams and his wife, Nancy of Irvine; her sister-in-law, Sandy Williams of Anaheim Hills; her sister-in-law, Dinah Williams of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She leaves this earth to join those who have departed before her: her father, Dan Williams; her mother, Lila Williams; and her brothers, Jack and Tom Williams.
Jo Ann lived in Bishop and graduated from high school there. She moved all over the country after her 1965 marriage to Robert, but always considered Bishop her home, as she loved to visit her family and friends there. Jo Ann and Robert returned to Big Pine and lived there from 2001-2007.
Her greatest joy was her family and friends. She was proud to be a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother, and ensured that anyone in her presence would feel welcomed and loved.
The family will hold a celebration of Jo Ann’s life to honor her and the blessings she bestowed on each of them at a later date in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and in Bishop.
Your prayers for my family are all we need. If you feel you must do something, honor Jo Ann with a genuine gift of acceptance and kindness to your family, friends or a total stranger, just as she did every day of her life.
