City settles claim for $38,000

The City of Bishop has agreed to pay out $38,000 in a settlement agreement with former City Administrator candidate David Buckingham to avoid what could have been a costly lawsuit.
According to the settlement agreement, Buckingham claims he was hired as the Bishop City Administrator last month. However, the city later hired Jim Tatum to serve as administrator.
