Seeing the world at eight MPH

Local educator Jan Rhoades recently fulfilled a long-held dream when she spent more than one year, covering more than 4,000 miles of U.S. roadways on a coast-to-coast tour bicycle.
The trip had been “a long-standing dream,” Rhoades said. “I thought, if I never do this, it will be a regret when I’m on my deathbed. The trip got under my skin and it’s a beautiful way to see the world at eight miles per hours” – a great title “if I ever write a book.”
