June A. Sauser

June A. Sauser passed away June 22, 2014 in Mammoth Lakes of natural causes. She was born July 24, 1920 in Burlington, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy; and brother, Leonard.
Rudy, June and their five children moved to Mammoth Lakes in 1958 and, in partnership with stepson Rudy Jr., owned and operated Sierra Pines Lodge for 11 years. After the lodge was sold, she worked for the Lodging Association, running Mammoth’s first reservation service. When she left the reservation service, June partnered with son Bill, owning their own Village Answering Service until her retirement in 1988.
A 55-year resident of Mammoth Lakes, June is survived by her five children, John Sauser of Las Vegas, Nev., Judy Halloran of Mission Hill, Charlie Sauser of Sacramento, Bill and Tina Sauser, both from Mammoth and Stepson Rudy Sauser Jr. of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Andrew, Monty and Randy Sauser, Brian Halloran, Grace Limpus and Mark and Luke Sauser; and six great-grandchildren, John Patrick, Taylor and Cody Sauser, Paige and Jordan Limpus and Clayton Sauser.
A “celebration of life” for June will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Sauser family residence, 126 Manzanita Rd., Mammoth Lakes.
In lieu of flowers, the Sauser family kindly request that donations be made to the Southern Mono Historical Society in the name of June Sauser.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1 at the Brune Mortuary Chapel in Bishop. Interment will follow at the East Line Street Pioneer Cemetery in Bishop.
