Shannon (Smith) Dews

On May 30, Shannon (Smith) Dews left us to be with Jesus full-time, forever, whole, healed, completely filled with peace and joy.
She was born on Oct. 11, 1974 at Northern Inyo Hospital to Les and Debbie Smith. She attended Bishop schools and graduated from Bishop Union High School in 1992. After high school Shannon worked as a nanny for several families both in Washington state and in California.
In Feb. 2000 she married Ian Dews in a beautiful wedding on the campus of Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego. She was blessed with two beautiful children, Logan and Madison. Shannon had an extreme form of Multiple Sclerosis. She pushed back against this disease with dignity and strength. To her last day she was engaged with her family and friends. All of those who came into her presence were blessed and amazed by her strength and beauty.
Spiritually her faith was strong and never wavered. She will be missed but we believe we will see her again. She can’t come to us but in Christ we can go to her. Her last words were, “Everyday, everyday with Jesus.”
She is survived by her husband, parents, children and her sister, Jennifer Maciaszek of Mammoth Lakes.
Per Shannon’s request, a celebration of life luau is being planned.
