The sophomore at Bishop High School came in with a strong second place finish after two gos, qualifying for the short go at the Tri-County Fairgrounds’ Mike Boothe Arena. There was a strong local contingent in the stands cheering her on as she entered the stadium for the final run.
The times to beat were a 16.296 and a 16.497. Inderbieten had turned in times within that range on her first two gos and executed a near flawless run for the finals. Her time, 16.490, put her in second place with eight more riders still to go.
With the best runs separated, literally, by split seconds, that 16.490 held up through the 15th and final racer, securing Inderbieten’s berth at the National High School Rodeo Association Finals in Rock Springs, Wyo., July 13-19.
