Carol ‘Jeannie’ Rurup
1936-2014

Memorial services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17 for 41-year Bishop resident Carol “Jeannie” Rurup with Rev. Samuel Gullixson officiating.
Born in Seward, Neb. on Oct. 14, 1936, Jeannie passed away peacefully on April 27, 2014 in Bishop – the town she dearly loved – at age 77.
Jeannie enjoyed many jobs throughout her life including: savings and loan clerk, semi-conductor industry clerk, waitress and grocery store clerk. By far her most beloved role was in childcare – caring for children and watching them grow and learn. She dearly loved serving at her church and volunteering at the local thrift store as well as spending time with friends and family. The one constant in her life has been her prevailing faith which blessed her with the heart, courage and strength to endure with joy until her last breath.
She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Robert Rurup; and sister, Dianne Grieser.
Jeannie is survived by her sons, Robert Bratt and Greg Hardee; daughters, Tamzan Emerson and Lori Johnson; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
