Melinda Fimbres Ridley

Melinda Fimbres Ridley, age 83, passed away peacefully at her Bishop home on April 11, 2014; after an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born and raised in Bishop. As an adult, Melinda spent 45 years away from Bishop, living in Los Angeles and Orange counties, where she had worked as an accountant. In 1996, Melinda returned to Bishop for her retirement.
Melinda was preceded in death by her dad, Ygnacio Fimbres Sr.; mom, Mabel Watterson Fimbres; sisters, Beulah Watterson, Dorothy Fimbres Richards and Amelia Fimbres Cyrus; and brother, Ygnacio Fimbres Jr.
Melinda is survived by her daughter, Karen Ridley; sisters, Frances Fimbres and Kathleen Fimbres Delgado; brother, Bob Fimbres; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19 at Brune Mortuary, 325 W. Elm St. in Bishop. Burial will be at Sunland Cemetery.
