Russell H. Forsyth, age 101, a resident of Big Pine for 35 years, born in Los Angeles on June 29, 1912, passed away Feb. 7, 2014 in Bishop.
Russell worked for the same company for 47 years, retired and moved to Big Pine with his wife Norma. They traveled 125,000 miles through 49 of the 50 states stopping to play his favorite sports: golfing and fishing. He loved life, his family and fishing Big Pine Creek.
Russell is survived by his wife, Norma; children, Gayle and Jerry Pfliederer, John and Vera Edwards, Nickie Stradley, Linda Edwards and Trish and Jeff Campbell; grandchildren, Michael and Christine Pfliederer, Jan and George Castro, Lori Thoma, Shelly and Steve Travers, Joshua Heath, Christopher Heath, Joseph and Shea Heath, Jen and Matthew LeTourneau, Shareen Edwards, Brent and Hilary Edwards, and David Stradley; and 13 great-grandchildren.
There will be a private memorial service in May.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Russell’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
