Hamilton takes first in Inyo’s Poetry Out Loud

Big Pine High School senior Robert Hamilton took first place in last week’s 2014 Inyo County Poetry Out Loud Finals and is expected to represent the county in the Sacramento state finals poetry battle this spring.
Owens Valley High School junior Katie Stine took second place at the Feb. 7 Inyo Council for the Arts POL event in Bishop. Runners-up were BPHS sophomore Brian Hambleton and junior Elizabeth Richards; Bishop Union High School freshman Rowan Benson; Lone Pine High School sophomore Cassandra Carlson; and OVHS sophomore Cianni Benson, senior Brooke Ross and junior Katie Schweizer. All nine competitors received certificates of participation and Spellbinder Books gift certificates.
