Corrine Piper

Corrine Piper was born April 12, 1928, to Ed Lewis and Tennie Lent. She was called to start her journey and meet her loved ones that went before her on Jan. 25, 2014.
She was the head maid at Vagabond when it first opened and she worked at Speagles Laundry.
She then met and married Steve Piper.
They resided here in Bishop and had five kids. Unfortunately Steve was taken early from the family and then she lived in Benton for many years until her death.
Corrine was preceded in death by the love of her life, Steve Piper; her mom, Tennie Lent; dad, Ed Lewis; sister, Gladys Beauregard; and great-grandson, Aluch-ka.
She is survived by her children and in-laws, Gerald Lewis and Lily Begay, Donovon Piper, Floyd and June Piper, Nancy and the late Robert McDowell Sr., and Charlotte and the late Carl Martinez Jr.; sister, Bertha Willis; grandchildren, Ho-No-Va and Shuria Lewis, Desba, Angela and Chuckie Lewis, Crystal Piper and companion Ed Chandler, Tanya Piper, Tomas, Steveland and Melinda McDowell, Robert McDowell Jr. and Callina Cortez, Floyd Jr., Dirrick and Preston Piper, Troy and Alberta Piper, Desiree and Reggie Saubel, Tammy Spoonhunter and Carl Martinez, III; great-grandchildren, Notsee, Charley and Sanapi Lewis, Tate and Desiree Lewis, LaVaree and Robert Jr. Roemello, Dejia and Demetria Chavez, Tashina and Danial Alvarado, Robert, III and Larielle McDowell, Jarrid and Derrick Cortez, Tomas, Emory and Dominque McDowell, Hayden Dondero, Quanah Davis, “Bear” Piper, Kiani, Damian and Alexandria Lafrombois and Gabriel, Sylas, Edward, Kenyon, Destin, Jayden, Kedus and Justice Piper; great-great-grandchildren, Giovanni Alvarado and Daniel Alvarado Jr.; and many more grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan., 31, 2014 at at the Brune Mortuary.
