Kenneth Martin Deboy
Born March 24, 1934 in Lodi, Kenneth Martin Deboy passed away Jan. 20, 2014 in Reno.
He was a charter member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bishop and served as a church treasurer for 42 years.
Ken graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1960 with a degree in civil engineering. He went to work for the California Department of Transportation, District 10, in Stockton. In 1968 he transferred to District 9 in Bishop. He retired after 37 years of service.
Ken was a Little League coach and a 4-H project leader. He spent many hours working in his large garden growing dahlias, gladiolas, his gourmet garlic, thornless blackberries and a little bit of just about any kind of vegetables that would grow in the Owens Valley.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Thelma Deboy; triplet daughters, Karen Annette, Kristine Renee and Kim Estelle; and his brother, John.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Nancy; son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Alice Deboy; daughter, Kristen Anastasia; sister and brother-in-law, Chris and Rudy Seidler and grandsons, Robert and Yuan; brother-in-law and wife, Delbert and Shirley Schmidt; brother-in-law, Leon Schmidt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The service for Ken will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Sneden Street in Bishop.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ken Deboy memorial fund at Our Savior Lutheran Church, or you may make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
