Melba Davis Reger
Melba Davis Reger, 96, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at Golden Meadows in Banning. Melba was born May 21, 1917 to Herman and Meta Pietsch Hinz in Farmington, Minn. and was a graduate of Farmington High School. She was a resident of Big Pine for 63 years, Jamestown, Calif. for seven years and Banning for five years. She was always active in her community as a Girl Scout Leader, the Gold Diggers Club and an active member of the Methodist Church in Big Pine.
Melba is preceded in death by her husbands, David T. Davis and Harold C. Reger; and sisters, Rose Mendenhall, Elaine Mitchell and Carol Anderson.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Donna D. Strong; son-in-law, Dr. Richard M. Strong; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family would also like to thank the staff of Golden Meadows for all the love and support they gave for so many years.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Weaver Mortuary Chapel, 1177 Beaumont Ave. in Beaumont.
