Mammoth woman killed in head-on collision

A fatal collision on U.S. 395 south of Bridgeport Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of Mammoth resident Suzanne Stokes, 86.
According to the Bridgeport Office of the California Highway Patrol, officers were dispatched to reports of the head-on collision shortly before 12:30 p.m..
Bridgeport Fire Department, Mono County Sheriff’s Department, Mono County Paramedics and Caltrans responded to the scene to find Stokes’ 1996 Subaru and a 2012 GMC van driven by Barbara Koehler, 62, of Minden, Nev. blocking the southbound lanes of traffic.
Koehler suffered moderate injuries in the collision and was transported to Bridgeport, then flown to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment.
