Another Fruitcake Festival for the history books

The results of the Ninth Annual Internationally Acclaimed Independence Fruitcake Festival are in.
Once again, the nuttiness wasn’t just relegated to the desserts.
Although some thought it all wet, the theme “20,000 Leagues under the Sea” was a great success and provided proof that, even underwater, some fruitcakes will forever be too dry.
More good news to come out of the festival was that everyone survived. As to why this is a concern, festivalgoers could not help but notice the bright yellow sign with red lettering on display next to the fruitcake laden tables warning of “BIOHAZARD: INFECTED SPECIMEN.” The sign did not specify to which fruitcake this pertained, or if it was all of them.
