Eastern Sierra Transit fleet grows

A fleet of new vehicles for the Eastern Sierra Transit Authority is expected to translate to maintenance savings for the agency, and more comfort for riders.
ESTA recently accepted delivery of seven new transit vehicles, consisting of one mini-van, four Starcraft cut-a-way style buses, one Eldorado and one EZ-Rider transit vehicle.
The new vehicles will be used in a variety of services, ranging from Dial-a-Ride to inter-county routes to Southern California.
The seven vehicles, totaling $834,000, were 100 percent funded through a combination of State Transit Improvement Program funds and federal transit grants, ESTA Transit Analyst Jill Batchelder said in a press release.
