David Allen Beaver
David Allen Beaver, born Sept. 26, 1956 passed away on Oct. 22, 2013 in Bishop.
He was a plumber by trade, but a master of many talents. He always loved the challenge of mastering something new. He was an artist, athlete, hunter, fisherman, taxidermist, miner, son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Dave was born second of four sons to James and Remona Beaver in Springhill, W.V. The family moved to California in 1960, first to Chatsworth, then to June Lake in 1974. He graduated from Lee Vining High School in 1975. After graduation he toured the U.S. with his older brother Jim and a friend doing a gymnastics and media show. After returning to June Lake he had his own carpet laying business, and then began his plumbing career. When a good friend bought a plumbing business in Bishop, Dave came along to help. While buying supplies at Brown’s Supply, he met and fell in love with Earlene. He married Earlene and her three daughters on Sept. 6, 1986 at Brown’s Town and became a devoted husband and stepfather. Soon after they were married he went to work for Brown’s Supply.
Dave mastered a number of skills throughout his life. A natural athlete, he played football, basketball, baseball and for many years he played on the infamous June Lake Loopers baseball team. He snow skied, water skied and did gymnastics. He could paint, draw and carve wood with the hand of a skilled artist. He learned to raise and breed pheasant. His love for hunting led him to become a self-taught taxidermist. His latest adventure was mining. With his backyard impact crusher, he proudly extracted gold and silver from raw ore.
Dave was a quiet, caring, thoughtful, honest, hardworking man and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He always stood up for what he felt was right, no matter the consequences and always put others before himself. He was patient, giving and forever humble. But most of all, he loved his family. He was always there anticipating their every need and looking after everyone. His passing has left a huge wake of broken hearts and a giant void in the lives of those he left behind.
He is survived by his wife, Earlene; parents, James and Remona Beaver; his children, Stacy and Tyson Sparrow, Cherie Hoersting and Joe Mendiburu and Kammi and Greg Foote; brothers, Jim Beaver, his wife Barbara and their children Miranda, Kimberly and Jason, and his wife, Sarah and son Justin, Mick Beaver and his children, Jennifer Murray, Ryan Murray and his wife Brittani, Wayne Beaver, his wife Margie and their children, Megan and Brad; his grandchildren, Noah Keathley, Andruw Allen, Dagan Sparrow and Annika Foote along with many cousins, nieces, nephews extended family members and friends.
There are not enough words to describe who this man was to us, we all just feel amazingly blessed to have shared his life. He will be greatly missed, but forever with us.
There will be a private memorial service held for Dave at a later date.
