The weather was perfect, Tungsten City Hills were impressive and the Bishop Broncos Cross Country teams couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome as they held their first High Desert League home meet Wednesday afternoon. Both the boys and girls teams scored perfect 15s.
The Broncos’ first place finishers, Carson Reid for the boys, Angie Flores for the girls, both took the early lead and were never threatened on the course that winds through the Tungsten Hills, northwest of Bishop. Reid led a pack of five Broncos to the finish line before the first Raven logged a time; the Lady Broncos finished first through sixth before Cal City’s runners crossed.
The Broncos’ next league meet is slated at Kern Valley, Oct. 30.
