Softball Tourney Fundraiser cancelled
The One Pitch Softball Tournament hosted by the Bishop Lady Broncos’ basketball team and scheduled for this weekend at City Park has been cancelled.

Archery Club July Shoot
The Eastern Sierra Bowmen’s Archery Club will hold its shoot this weekend at the Big Springs site off the Owens River Road near Crestview Rest Area. There will be white and red signs posted for directions. The shoot is designed for traditional bows only; no compound bows will be allowed.
The shoot includes 30 3-D targets with 2-arrow scoring ability. Sign-ups start at 8 a.m. on Saturday with the course pick-up at 3 p.m., Sunday. The event includes a Saturday night potluck; camping is encouraged. The cost is $20 for individuals and $30 for families.

Summer Volleyball Camp at Big Pine
Big Pine School is hosting a summer volleyball camp with Gold Medal Squared Aug. 5-8. Gold Medal Squared coaches, with years of experience working with high school to the college levels, will provide about 28 hours of training in essential skills. This opportunity is open to girls, 10-17. The $250 cost of the camp will include a T-shirt and lunch daily. For more information and to register, contact Shelly Snoderly at (619) 274-6113.

Hunter Education Classes in Independence
Bruce and Steve Ivey will be conducting the Hunter Education classes necessary for licensing Friday, Aug. 9 from 6-9 p.m. and continuing on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Department of Water and Power’s assembly room at 201 S. Webster St. in Independence.

August is chock full of tournament opportunities at Bishop Country Club. Aug. 10 is the Coors Tournament; the Moon Beam tourney is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 17 and the Bronco Football Tournament fundraiser is Aug. 24.
