Debbie Berry McKenna Boyd, 42, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away June 22, 2013 at her home in Fairbault, Minn. Her loving, caring nature influenced everyone who ever met her. Her compassion and service to others was an inspiration to her family and friends.
Deb was born Oct. 13, 1970 in Rapid City, S.D. to John Berry and Roberta Berry. She came to live in Bishop at the age of 3, where she was raised by her parents John and Lynda Berry.
She graduated from Bishop High School in 1988. She immediately joined the U.S. Army where she served as a medic at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. After the service, she came back to Bishop to work as an EMT for Symons Ambulance and Northern Inyo Hospital. She married Mark McKenna in 1994 and had three wonderful children, Ashley, Brandon and Austin. They were her whole world. She was employed at Bennions in Las Vegas as a pit boss and later moved to Minnesota where she met and married Richard T. Boyd.
Deb is survived by her husband, Richard T. Boyd of Fairbault; daughter, Ashley; sons, Brandon and Austin; stepmom to her children, Cindy McKenna of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; Parents, John and Lynda Berry of Riverton, Utah; sisters, Jodi (Shane) of Riverton and Tina (Steve) of Reno, Nev; brothers, Fred (Tammy) of Mesa, Ariz., Tristan (Tori) of Apache Junction, Ariz.; Corey (Susan) of Medford, Ore.; and best friend, Brandy (Arrion) of Las Vegas; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Deb was preceded in death by her mother, Roberta Berry; and sister, April Berry.
A celebration of her life will be held at East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop at 1 p.m. July 27 with a luncheon to follow.
