MediCal Managed Care is coming to Inyo County

July 15, 2013

Inyo County Health and Human Services/Eastern Sierra Area Agency on Aging will be sponsoring several community presentations about the two new Medi-Cal Managed Care Plans, HHS/Eastern Sierra Area Agency on Aging Director Jean Turner said.
Both California Health and Wellness and Anthem Blue Cross, which won the bid from the state to provide managed care in 18 rural counties in California, are sending managerial representatives to Inyo County to talk to Medi-Cal recipients and medical providers about which health benefits will be covered in each of the plans. Medi-Cal beneficiaries will have to choose one of the plans by September 1 and let the HHS Medi-Cal-eligibility staff know which plan they have chosen.
According to a recent HHS flyer, “If you are or will be a recipient of Medi-Cal, or if you are a Medi-Cal provider or interested stakeholder, come hear presentations from the two plans, Anthem Blue Cross and California Health and Wellness, at one of these three presentations:”
