MONDAY, JUNE 17, 2013 – Eight months after launching a $1 million capital campaign to construct new, local headquarters, the Salvation Army Bishop Corps is inviting the community to a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of its future facility.
The facility, according to the Salvation Army, will consolidate the Corps’ many county-wide social service endeavors and allow for the expansion of its programs that are currently located in cramped, rented storefronts.
The ceremony will start at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the future home of the Salvation Army at 106 MacIver St. The event will welcome Salvation Army Golden State Divisional Commander Lt. Col. Stephen Smith and according to Bishop Corps Officer Lt. Cathie McCully, she and Donor Relations Director Laura Whitehouse will make remarks.
