Attempted-murder suspect tracked down in Bishop

FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 2013 – An investigation into an alleged attempted murder Thursday night resulted in the arrest of Chad Smith, 40, of Wilkerson, at a Bishop residence Friday afternoon.
According to the Inyo County Sheriff’s Department, authorities received a report of a domestic dispute with shots fired near Collins Road in Wilkerson at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Carma Roper said Friday that shots were fired at a resident inside a home on Collins Road. The Bishop Police Department, Sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol Officers responded and secured the scene.
