Allison Inderbieten, a seventh grader at Home Street Middle School, is on her way to the National Junior High Rodeo Finals in Gallup, N.M. as part of the California team.
Inderieten will be competing in barrel racing and breakaway roping at the finals June 23-29.
The finals feature more than 1,000 contestants from 41 states andCanada and Australia vying for $75,000 in prize money and $100,000 in college scholarships. But the big prize is the title of NJHRF national champion.
The format is similar to the California High School Rodeo, held in Bishop in mid-June, with the top 20, after two goes in each event, going into the final round and championship titles determined by combined scores or times.
