One of Southern Inyo’s most enduring summer events is returning next month with a familiar face in tow.
Rex Allen Jr., son of seminal singing cowboy Rex Allen and longtime friend of the Lone Pine Film History Museum, will perform in the heart of the Alabama Hills on Saturday, June 1 as part of the museum’s largest, annual fundraiser.
Concert in the Rocks takes place in Lone Ranger Canyon just as the sun begins to set behind the Sierra – making for what Museum Director Bob Sigman calls “an enchanting evening.”
The attractions actually get started earlier in the day with a special “On Location Tour” at 10 a.m. Ticketholders will be led to various sites in the Alabama Hills where famous scenes from movies and television were filmed, including Lone Ranger Canyon.
