April 25, 2013

Gene Wayne Harris

Gene Wayne Harris, 41, of Mammoth Lakes, was arraigned in federal court today on a grand jury indictment that charges him with attempted production of child pornography and attempted enticement of a minor, U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.
Harris, a registered sex offender, allegedly committed these crimes between March 1 and March 8 while communicating with a person he believed was a 14-year-old girl, according to the indictment and statements made in court. During this time frame, Harris allegedly tried to produce child pornography and entice who he thought was a minor to engage in illegal sexual conduct with him.
