Kern Valley has been in the Bishop softball team’s crosshairs since, probably, forever.

That tie will be broken this afternoon as Bishop hosts the Lady Roadrunners at City Park. First pitch: 3:15 p.m.
“We had great pitching,” said coach Stacy Van Nest. “We out hit the Broncs and played solid defense. I am so proud of our team for their great effort.”
Bishop scored in the fourth inning. KV came back to tie the game 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth.
With two outs in the top of the seventh, the Broncos put 2 more runs on the board to take a 3-1 lead.
Kern had a runner on base in the bottom of the seventh, but Bishop closed out the game for the win and a piece of the top spot in league.
